Après une première édition tenue à guichets fermés, ce cours unique sur la justice internationale est de retour à Montréal pour une
deuxième édition. Enseigné par certains des plus éminents experts canadiens dans le domaine, ce cours a pour objectif d’explorer les enjeux juridiques et pratiques qui se posent dans la répression des crimes de guerre, des crimes contre l’humanité, du génocide et de la torture.

Ce cours contient deux modules. Le Module I (en anglais) offre une introduction à la justice internationale qui s’adresse non
seulement aux avocats et étudiants en droit, mais également aux autres étudiants, chercheurs et autres professionnels intéressés par ce domaine. Le Module II (en français) se concentre sur les procédures juridiques par lesquelles des individus peuvent être tenus responsables au Canada et à l’étranger pour des crimes internationaux. Cette année, le Module II comprend des options de cours inédits pour les participants qui ont assisté au cours l’année dernière ou pour les participants bien informés sur la justice internationale.

Ce cours accorde 12 heures de formation juridique permanente accréditées par le Barreau du Québec et rencontrant également les
exigences du Barreau du Haut-Canada.

CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LIABILITY FOR WAR CRIMES, GENOCIDE, CRIMES AGAINST HUMANITY AND TORTURE

Pluralism

After a sold-out first edition, this unique course on international justice returns to Montreal for a second year. Taught by some of
Canada’s leading experts in international justice, this course explores both the legal and practical issues involved in the pursuit of
justice for war crimes, crimes against humanity, genocide and torture.

The course has two modules. Module I, taught in English, provides a general introduction to the field of international justice that is
aimed not just at lawyers and law students, but students, academics, and professionals with an interest in these issues. Module II,
taught in French, provides a more focused overview of the legal processes through which individuals can be held civilly and criminally
accountable in Canada and abroad for international crimes. This year, module II also includes a set of updated course options for
participants who attended the course last year or who are already knowledgeable about international justice.

This course provides 12 hours of CLE activity accredited by the Barreau du Québec and qualifies as CLE activity with the Law Society
of Upper Canada.
